Overview

Located in the bustling heart of Subang Jaya at Jalan USJ 11/1j, Boom Town Cafe offers a vibrant take on Malaysian street food in an open-air setting. The cafe embraces a casual dining experience beneath trees adorned with warm hanging lights, creating a lively atmosphere especially suited for night outings with friends or family. While the outdoor seating adds charm, it sits close to a busy roadside, which might give some diners pause about safety, but the ambiance remains inviting.

The menu is diverse, featuring a blend of local favorites and international flavors that cater to a variety of tastes. Signature dishes like Takoyaki, Sate Perut Lembu, and the Monster Burger stand out, showcasing the cafe’s ability to balance traditional recipes with fusion twists. The satay, in particular, earns praise for its tender, juicy meat and a pleasing balance of fat, though some suggest the peanut sauce could benefit from a deeper savory kick to complement its subtle sweetness.

Beyond satay, Boom Town Cafe serves comforting classics such as Mee Kari and Keropok Lekor Cheese alongside international picks like Shawarma Beef and Beef Burritos. The inclusion of items like Tandoori Chicken and Korean Chicken hints at a fusion approach that keeps the palate engaged. For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert offerings—ranging from Oreo Pancakes and Famous Amos Pancakes to the refreshing Cendol and Coconut Shake—add a delightful finish to any meal.

Patrons often highlight the night vibe as a key part of the experience. The vibe encourages lingering and casual “lepak” sessions, making it a favored spot for groups looking to unwind. While some dishes, such as the char kuey teow and shawarma, receive consistent commendations, others—especially some of the western-style meals—appear to need refinement in portion and flavor balance. Prices lean slightly above typical street stalls, reflecting the cafe's focus on atmosphere and variety rather than traditional hawker fare.

Overall, Boom Town Cafe positions itself as a dynamic venue for those seeking a laid-back yet flavorful dining experience that blends Malaysian classics with global influences. It's ideal for food enthusiasts eager to explore diverse tastes within a lively, communal setting under the stars. Whether you're craving satay, fusion street food, or a sweet treat, Boom Town offers a versatile menu to satisfy a broad audience, all within the vibrant local scene of Subang Jaya.

It’s a great place to hang with your friends especially during night time. The place has a good ambiance that improves your mood almost as instantly. The variety of stalls also is not that bad. My favourite will be the Oreo Pancake and the Coconut Shake. The Takoyaki also is quite good. I love the sauce. Overall, this place is highly recommended!

The food taste okay, nothing special, a lil bit pricey compare to normal stall. Good place to chill with your family and friends. CKT not so good, the shawarma taste good, and nasi lemak 2.5 star only.

I would say it is an interesting place with dine place under the tree with full of hanging lights for once in a while because the seating place is too near with the side road. I'm just concerned about safety with the traffic on the side road. Overall ok.

Craving for sate so we went here to try. Surprisingly the sate was good. All meat was tender and juicy. The portion of sate 60% meat 40% fat which is i prefer/like. Sate and kuah kacang tasted a bit sweet. I wish they can improve to make kuah kacang more savory so it can balance out sweet sate flavour. Ordered 10 chicken , 10 meat, 10 lamb & 5 cow belly for RM47+. There’s a few more food stall here. Environment is open air concept. Update: We came back and tried shawarma and western food here. Shawarma was good but i wont suggest for the western food one. They need to improve for the western food portion.

Eyyyyy whoever say shawarma is good… OMG….. what is wrong with your tastebuds???!?!?!?!!!!!??? It is the worst food amongst everything!!! I took one part of it and I left it as it is… I cannot even swallow anything from it… the fries is all soaked with oil and he gave me the last bits crumbs of the fries… Otak-otak is good will order it again, satay also ok, but I paid for 2 isi ayam but they gave me all normal ayam.. don’t la scam ppl like that… Lekor, enjoyable but I prefer soggy and more fish meat, this wan whoever likes crispy and airy.. is for you! Drinks are okay but pricey. Everything I ate here was rm61
